When fitted with a scope the Mattock out-performs the Viper with a higher effective damage (fire rate * damage = effective damage) and also weighs less. Otherwise, personally I’d go with the Mantis (or better if you have it) or an Assault Rifle – like the Mattock. M-97 Viper – The semi-automatic Viper fires over 4 times as fast as the Mantis delivering higher damage in less time, but if you are looking for one shot kills, you probably are not interested in the Viper unless a) its leveled up, b) its modded and c) you are picking out weaker unprotected targets. M-92 Mantis – The “poor man’s” Widow/Black Widow, this single shot bolt-action can be leveled up and modded to be fairly comparable with a level 1 Widow/Black Widow.

M-90 Indra – The only fully automatic sniper rifle in the roundup, the Indra fires at the speed of a typical assault rifle. M-29 Incisor – A three-round burst sniper rifle with a 15 round magazine clip, you may find yourself needing to reload rather often (every 5 trigger pulls). According to an email during ME2 from the Illusive Man, the Incisor is particularly good VS shields. For example, the special-purpose M-29 Incisor I (level 1 Incisor).
